Home Our Approach Care

Care

Our aim is to provide the highest quality of care in a positive, caring, structured and homely environment.

The home is registered to accommodate up to 26 young people. The bespoke, person-centred service can cater for stays of between 38 and 52 weeks per year.

We aim to promote development and independence to enable each young person to realise their full potential and develop essential social, emotional and life skills.

We believe every young person should be treated with dignity and respect and that they should be safe from harm whilst being truly cared for by the committed, specialist team we have here at Barton who support them.

The Children’s Home is made up of six flats (all named after British Birds) and special care is taken to ensure children are consulted in the decoration of their flat and that they are matched with other children to encourage friendships as well as appropriate space to pursue their interests and hobbies and so treat this as their home. Each flat is light and airy and has all the facilities and homely comforts appropriate to each child’s sensory needs and personal preferences.

Parents are welcome to visit any time and regular phone calls home enable the children’s home and parents to work together to support each child.
